About C. Quinn DeMar
C. Quinn DeMar is one of Doug Hartley’s pen names. Doug is a full-time business owner and has 40+ years of business writing experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance with a minor in Spanish, as well as a graduate-level degree in property and casualty insurance underwriting.
Doug loves reading but finds the process extremely difficult. While others around him can sit down and read a book in a few days, it takes him a month.
A reading teacher in elementary school discovered his challenge to read before dyslexia was classified as a real disorder. Now, with technology, he devours audiobooks and has employed text-to-speech programs for nearly two decades. Doug promotes alternative methods of enjoying literature for the visually challenged.
Doug dabbles in photography, film, and other visual arts, like oil painting and watercolor. He’s trying his hand at fiction writing by releasing his debut novel:

The workings of the mind, the study of its relationship to the body, and its perception and reaction to the environment have always fascinated C. Quinn.

C. Quinn pushes the boundaries of what is possible both in the seen and unseen universe, placing the least-prepared characters into seemingly impossible roles.

The characters in C. Quinn's stories often travel to distant places and sometimes backward or forward through time to seek answers or resolve conflict.
Relationships
C. Quinn pushes the characters in his books to challenge each other. Either they grow stronger together or drift away—or fall off a cliff or get smashed in a trash compactor.

Trust Fall is a fictional tale loosely based on a story C. Quinn’s nephew tells of falling while hiking and being nursed back to health by a stranger who insisted he stay in her care a little longer than he intended.

The author’s daughter revealed that she and her two sisters would like to turn his ashes into diamonds upon his passing. He learned that diamonds can be created in the lab by pressing the remains of the hardest substance on earth using pressure. The topic turned from interesting to macabre when she posed the question. What if you don’t wait until someone’s death and press them alive?
